Dr. Richard Ziehmer, known as Dr. Z, is a board-certified orthodontist committed to providing honest, comfortable, and high-quality care. A Tucson native, he completed his dental degree at Indiana University and advanced orthodontic training at Saint Louis University, one of the nation’s top programs. With years of experience and advanced certification through the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Z focuses on personalized treatment and results patients can feel confident about.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and currently reside in Scottsdale. I feel incredibly fortunate to have built a career in a profession that I am genuinely passionate about. The journey to where I am today has been shaped by years of dedication, patience, and hard work. Orthodontics allows me to combine precision and compassion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients.
Outside of the office, I dedicate my time to making lasting memories with my wife, Gina, and our children, Zia and Zac. Family is at the center of everything I do, and I truly value the moments we spend together—whether we’re cheering at sports events, attending school activities, or simply spending quality time at home. There’s nothing like seeing your kids explore and discover new things. Gina and I know this time will go by fast, so we want to enjoy every minute! We love to travel, cook, discover new restaurants in the area, and spend time outdoors.
Living in Scottsdale, our family enjoys exploring local spots and staying involved in the community. We take pride in supporting local schools, teams, and programs whenever possible, as it allows us to give back to the community we are proud to be a part of. During my favorite time of year, I proudly cheer on the Arizona Wildcats and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. That sense of pride extends beyond the game, reflecting our deep appreciation for Arizona—a place that holds a special meaning for our family and one we are grateful to call home.
